Spotlighting SEN Unity
Healthwatch Wandsworth have been connecting with services across the borough that engage children and young people with autism as part of their research project. Wandsworth is a borough rich in community spirit and exciting activities. SEN Unity is one the charities working with the community to provide high quality experiences for children and young people.
SEN Unity organises a wide range of activities intended to support children and young people with SEN. Some of the activities they offer include:
- Holiday camps
- A range of sports and arts clubs
- Music and movements lessons
- Interdisciplinary education support
Healthwatch Wandsworth attended their holiday clubs over the summer where we spoke with families about our project on autism to understand:
- Their experiences navigating the diagnosis pathway
- The kind of support they want for themselves and their children
- The changes they hope to see in autism provision moving forward
We are incredibly grateful for the families who took the time to fill out our survey as they shared valuable insights that we can pass on to people delivering services to influence change.
