Healthwatch Assembly - 2nd March 2016

We held an event in March about new developments to our local health services and a service that could help people who have complaints about NHS services. If you couldn't be there, you can still find out more in our report.

On the 2nd of March we invited members of the public to come along to our Assembly meeting at Wandsworth Quaker Meeting House on Wandsworth High Street. Attendance was really good despite the rain and we were just about able to squeeze everybody in.

Key topics covered

  • Andy McMylor (Director for Primary Care Development) and Peter Ilves (Wandsworth CCG) came along to talk to us about recent and proposed changes to Primary Care services including:

    • Community Hubs.
    • Commissioning.
    • Five Year Forward View of developments to NHS services.

The discussion was informative and sparked lots of important questions and comments.

  • Stephanie Linden from Voiceability gave us an update on the NHS Complaints Advocacy Service which is free, confidential and works independantly from the NHS.

The presentation was really useful and many of those present took away leaflets and useful tips and hints.

You can still find out more by downloading the presentation. We run these events four times a year so you can keep up to date with these topics and more. See our events pages for the latest informaiton.
