News from our Assembly - 22nd June 2016

At our event in June we heard about plans for improving outpatients at St George's Hospital and how Wandsworth Council have a standard to make sure their information is accessible for people. Read more about it in our report.

We held another of our free public events on 22nd June to hear updates on key developments to our local services and to give local people the opportunity to ask questions and share viewss with the people in charge of those services.

What we discussed

  • Steve Sewell, Programme Director for Outpatient Transformation at St. George’s Hospital told us about plans to transform the Outpatients department and everything that might entail.

As usual, there was an opportunity to hear public opinion and St George's was able to gather feedback on the subject which will hopefully contribute to what this service finally looks like.

  • Andy Mead from Wandsworth Council told us about their Accessible Information Standard which aims to ensure that everyone receives information in a format that they can access and understand (e.g. large print, braille or email), and/or professional communication support if they need it (e.g. an Interpreter).

If you want to know more about these topics, the presentations are available below for download.

We will be keeping people up to date with these topics at future events and with updates that will be published on our website.
